Hello!
I apologize for being so MIA! January was a great month for me as far as work, but that in turn left me with barely any time for anything else. I had to end the month with a deep tissue massage for goodness sake, haha!
I actually didn’t have an install in January somehow, but I will have two this week that should be pretty fun before and afters that I’ll share after! Since I don’t have any pretty install photos to show this time, I thought I would share some of the design presentations I did this month instead.
Maybe you can see a little more into my thought and problem-solving process as I went through these designs this month. This is, after all, the first step towards those beautiful before and after shots!
Terra Bella
I had a lot of fun with this one. This customer just loved the idea of a Wyoming hunting lodge for his home. Now to be realistic, they live in the SA suburbs, so I gave the design every touch of rustic I could to achieve the feeling. Artisan leather, a hide designer rug, and some slightly tribal prints will bring the look together. Throw in some pops of the popular dusty blue color we have been seeing everywhere, and this room comes together perfectly balanced.
Cloud View
This customer has the most exquisite view of the Texas Hill Country. Their living room is all windows (rightfully so) to allow for the most open view of the landscape as possible. They wanted to keep the hill country theme in the interior design with some clean elements. With grandchildren in the double digits, these materials also had to be ultra-durable, so we picked some high quality leather, and crypton fabrics for the main furniture pieces. The camel color leather hints at the hill country, and the continued color scheme of camel tan, dusty blue, and navy will pull the entire look together.
Cibolo Canyons
More of a traditional look, this customer loves rust orange and browns. I wanted to take what it was she wanted to achieve in the look and clean it up a bit by using more solids in the orange category and a few more clean and contemporary patterns. I actually designed this one on the spot with the customer, so she was heavily involved in the final decisions. I think what we came up with is going to be absolutely stunning!
Anaqua Springs
I haven’t been able to fully present this one yet, but trust me I’m looking forward to showing this one off. This customer moved down to Texas from Pennsylania and wanted a really transitional look in the neutral grays with pops of navy. They came with no furniture, but lots of blue and white china, so I revolved the design around the home style itself and the accessories that they currently have. Since the accessories and color scheme can pull a little towards traditional, we picked some more modern frames to put them on to keep the look transitional at the end of the day. The furniture itself is really a monochromatic scheme of grays, with a lot of blue texture mixed into the pillows and other accents. I even proposed painting their fireplace navy as an accent wall!
North Castle Hills
This was a super interesting one to work on! Sometimes when I work with couples, their two styles are polar opposites. Maybe the wife loves traditional and the husband loves modern…that can make my job really difficult. In this one, the wife loves the Southwest Santa Fe look…and the husband loves Scotland. I chose to go mostly neutral with some whiffs of the two looks in the pillows to keep things from looking too crazy. So, I have a mix of some plaid for him and some Ralph Lauren southwest prints for her. Done lightly, the overall look should be really fun and comfortable! Mostly beige and tan materials on the furniture will anchor the entire design.
Summerglen
When I arrived to this customer’s home she showed me some new drapes she had just had made. They were nice and long 20’ floor-to-ceiling drapery. The only problem was, they were teal and yellow…and her living room was orange and brown. So I went to work to refresh the living room design to go with the new drapes in a tan and teal scheme with pops of yellow. The watercolor combination pillow is going to be the one that ties the entire look together for us. Isn’t it crazy that a little pillow can hold that much power?
See y’all next time!
